GSR Technology Europe Ltd introduces its new range of Touch Monitor and Panel PC solutions, with added Antimicrobial protection.

The inclusion of antimicrobial coating to the front cover glass is designed to eliminate 99% of all forms of bacteria on the user interface surface. Adopting inorganic antimicrobial technology, GSR uses non-toxic silver ions which gives a steady long-term effect. These silver ions and other ingredients are screen printed onto the covered glass once it has been toughened, then the whole screen printed glass is UV cured.

The main difference between anti-bacterial and antimicrobial substances is the types of micro-organism they act upon. Antimicrobial agents prevent the spread of bacteria and fungi. This adds a much broader scope of protection compared to anti-bacterial products. Metal ions adhere onto the microbes and react with the sulfhydryl protease inside them. This reaction causes the protease to lose vitality meaning they are unable to reproduce and the bacteria to dies.
